Location

With Markham Tutors, the entire emphasis is one-on-one tutoring.  There is no classroom setting.  Kids are in classrooms all day, so we opt for a more casual setting and have found that one-on-one works best.  We meet at the tutor's house where resource and learning materials are readily available, in addition to a computer.  The kids are more relaxed than they would be in a library or in their own homes where there are distractions.

Availability

Markham Tutors' instructors are available in the afternoons (right after school), and evenings, Monday to Thursday.

Because we really love teaching and helping our students, we find they excel in ways they never thought were possible!  As a result, self-confidence is boosted and our students find tremendous self-esteem through their accomplishments!  Their marks go up and they realize what they are truly capable of in the subject.

We encourage our students, believe in them and, as they begin to see improvement, not only do they feel good about themselves, they also see tangible results in their grades!

We've also noticed that for some students, their university goals have changed as a result of academic improvement.  For some, who thought their "dream" career was a pipe-dream, their marks have improved so much that their ambitions are no longer out of reach.  They CAN get accepted into the university or college program of their choice!

It's truly gratifying for us as their tutors... academic coaches...  mentors... teachers... to witness a renewed enthusiasm for school and the realization of dreams.  This makes it all worthwhile for us at Markham Tutors!
