"yeesss, i love technology..." Kip

Google is probably the greatest thing to happen to technology since the web.  These pages exist because Google gives me free space and hosting to do what i wish.  My favorite Google services are the following: Gmail, Page Creator, Personalized Home Page, Docs and Spreadsheets.  If you don't have a Google account, you don't really exist... or won't for long.

Slashdot is THE nerd news page.  Everything from quantum bits to multiverses is fair game.  Let them sort through the headlines for you and deliver them with pithy insights.  If you think you are tech and don't read this page or at least subscribe to their RSS feed somewhere, think again.

Sun Microsystems seems to be heading in the right direction.  Their hardware and software makes life easier as a  systems administrator.  Solaris 10 is free and good.

Apple is putting out some great stuff lately.  The new MacBooks rule and of course everyone has an iPod.  They aren't as great as many people seem to think and in the end, they care too much about money like all the rest, but they have a special way about them that provokes us to love them.  Like using FreeBSD for OS X.  How cool.  AppleBasic was my first programming language some twenty years ago, so i'm a bit emotionally attached.

Oracle is a mean competitor.  You don't want to have to deal with them.  They care about money first and foremost.  Fortunately, that results in a really solid database platform.  As much as i dislike them, i wouldn't run mission-critical apps that require 24x7 uptime on anything else.
