the Bible

best book(s) ever, duh.

The Bible is God's infallible special revelation to man.

trying to decide what should go on this page and what should go on the apologetics page- either way there will be lots of overlap.  there should be more than one way to get to the same info.  people think differently.

maybe the stuff below should go on a separate Bible versions page...

English Standard Version - esv.org - Uses the best manuscript evidence and a great translation philosophy.   If you have to choose one Bible, this should probably be it.

the NET Bible - The New English Translation also uses excellent manuscript evidence and is in some regards superior to the ESV.  It has more text-critical notes explaining which manuscripts and words were used and why.  Its only downfall is that it is not widely available in bookstores or in a variety of formats.  Hopefully that will change soon, but it's online for free and available in print from the bible.org store.

biblegateway.com - many versions in one place, just choose a passage and version(s.)

Bible study and reference - studylight.org, bible.crosswalk.com, bibleandreference.com are all good,
but go to the Bible study page for more detail

cut the following from the main page to make room for more people/community/save the world links:

Bibles - esv.org - the English Standard Version; biblegateway.com - many versions in one place

Bible study and reference - studylight.org, bible.crosswalk.com, theopedia.com, bibleandreference.com

bible.org - New English Translation with textual notes, The Theology Program, and more study resources
