The chicken represents a rider's first year participating in the event. While usually I post one picture from the day it was taken, this week, I'll be posting a collection from a 2-day trip to Todos Santos. On November 1st, el Dia de los Santos, the men of Todos Santos honor the dead by participating in two 3-hour horse races. There is no winner. Instead, the goal is to stay on your horse as long as possible-- quite a task considering that the second Todos Santos Nov. 1st tradition is (very) heavy drinking. |
