Our Products & Services ALTERATIONS AND REPAIRS
Hi I'm Marieka. My team and I specialise in sewing alterations and repairs. Particularly popular services include hemming, re-lining of garments, repairing holes and rips, and replacing zips and buttons (available in-store for your convenience). Don't throw away that favourite item! Bring it in to our creative team and be delighted in what we can do - often it will be better than when you bought it! Also of benefit is having haberdashery and beading on site.

MADE TO ORDER
The secret is out - We're making clothing to order once again. Wedding dresses, bridesmaid or flower girl, mother of the bride or groom, or off season clothes for those of you heading overseas, or just for something you would like made up. Pop in or email us with your idea. We'll discuss your ideas with you and make them happen.
HABERDASHERY and KNITTING
In-store we have a range of haberdashery including buttons, sewing needles, pins, thread, appliques, sewing scissors and more. We've started a range of knitting accessories and wools, starting with the softest acrylic baby wool, great for busy mums as the knitted garment can just be popped into the washing machine. We can also order in for you, no problem.
BEADS AND JEWELLERY
We are now stocking a range of beads (Diamantie, seeds, feature beads), plus findings, (earring clips, catches, hooks, crimps etc). Make your own original jewellery or for gifting, or transform your clothes into something unique and glamerous. The range is ever-increasing.
Also on site fresh water pearl necklaces in several colours. Again we can order in for you.
SEWING MACHINE REPAIRS
If it's just a service or a quote for a repair, drop off your machine and our specialist technician will have your machine running smoothly in no time.

EXPERIENCE My passion for sewing began when I was three. With a multitude of sewing experience behind us, my team and I love to sew well-fitted, carefully constructed garments. With the experienced we have gained, we have the ability to alter and repair garments to tailored requirements, and specialise in creative repairs.
My carefully picked team and I cover all your alterations from a simple jeans hem, to fully creating your original, perfect ball gown.
Weddings
We've saved many a wedding by properly fitting store-bought dresses, or repairing old or unfitting garments. We've helped design and create bridesmaid's dresses and crafted matching accessories such as ties and hankerchiefs for the groomsmen. Many mother-of-the-bride's outfits have come from Marieka's, custom made and fitted to be just right for the special day, or revamped/cut/syled from existing garments in your wardrobe.
Ball Frocks and Evening Wear
Ball frocks (including matching ties for the guys) are a frequent request. Your design is created with fabrics of your choice* and fitted to you, for your special evening. Many alterations to pre-bought dresses come through during ball season such as shortening of hems and adding/removing of straps, as well as adjusting ball dresses or bridesmaid's dresses to be used for evening or every day wear, or altering them into different styles.
*it is recommended you speak to us prior to purchasing fabrics to ensure correct lengths and types are met.
Maternity Clothing
As well as made-to-order maternity clothing, we've adjusted several everyday garments to be preggy-friendly. For a more detailed list of options, call us or refer to the list under the heading 'Pricing' above.
Alterations and Repairs
My team at Marieka's can do just about any alterations or repairs, from jeans or pants taking up or letting down to sleeve shortening or patchwork, to replacing buttons and repairing holes in knitwear. We can completely replace old suit linings or hem up skirts to just the right length. For a more detailed guide, refer to the "Pricing" heading above, or contact us.
