In 1885 Jumeau deposed Tete Bebe model so, from then on, ' depose' appeared as a signature on the bebes. As I said, this model was an evolution of the EJ and the ' Jumeau Depose' face. Marked with the red stamp ' Tete Jumeau', this model would be the last, till the end of the company in 1899. Here we already find open mouth models with inset porcelain teeth. Again, the way open mouths are made vary a lot and it is quite a job to learn how to distinguish ealier bebes from the ones already close to the SFBJ period. In March 1899, Jumeau et Cie vanished. Emile Louis Jumeau sold all the company's shares to the SFBJ ( Société Française des Bebes et Jouets), putting an end to a dream and to his reign in the french doll industry.
I'm presenting here this beautiful BebeJumeau size 7, still belonging to the 'Maison Jumeau', bearing the same mark on her headas closed mouth models. I was very lucky to find her in a all original condition, with her jumeau chemise still labeled, original socks and shoes, original wig and pate. She has a wonderful smiling expression, very delicate features and white bisque. Enjoy this little beauty!
