Her name is Geneviève. Come and meet her!
This is an extremely beautiful example of the bebe model signed EJ. This model was made during the 1880's. She evolved from the ' Portrait' model and resulted in three different signatures, being this one the last, with the word ' Déposé' engraved. So, Geneviève belongs to the final EJ signed model ( 1885/6)
There are two other earlier signatures of the EJ Bebe. The first has the size number above or below the initials. The second has the initials on either sides of the number. They are, in every detail, closer to the ' portrait' model. Though I speak about them in quite a general way, they all have distinct features, especially on the eyes, as well as on the bisque decoration. We mustn't forget that each doll has her own identity. There aren't two alike, nor even in the same model. French antique dolls are works of art.
She is size 11, has a perfect bisque, big blue eyes and a unique expression. She is just perfect dressed in a luxurious Bebe dress with a matching hat. Her shoes are also original.
