Phrasal verbs are verbal constructions typical of the English Language formed by a verb
and one or two particles. Such structures are syntactically and semantically
complex due to the fact that they do not fit into logical and homogeneous
rules. Not only do Phrasal verbs have meanings which can be more or less
metaphorical, but they may also vary in the number of components, which
complicates the task of identifying and collecting them automatically with
concordance programs. Phrasal verbs are formed by a verb and a particle (or two particles sometimes).... My master's research was about the semantic contribution that particles of phrasal verbs have in their overall meaning.... - under construction - |
