hugin perspective correction

Simple perspective correction for real estate photography, to continue the theme started by Larry Lohrman

This is the starting image, shooted by Larry lohrman. His camera was tilted downwards, and this creates strong distortion. We want to level the perspective with Hugin.

First we load the image by any means, drag and drop or File > open, we select it and use the adjust the anchor spot command.

The anchor spot is the vanishing point of the perspective. Here we want to level the perspective, so we choose it in level with the line of sight of the photographer, and we keep it in the middle of the room to keep the back wall parallel. It's also possible to control the roll.

Back to the main window, in the second tab camera and lens we put the focal length, say 16 mm with a 1x convertion factor after selected the only image. It isn't necessary to put these information if the file have a correct exif metadata.

This is almost done. Go to the last tab, sticher, and adjust the options: select rectilinear projection, press calculate field of view and calculate optimal size. The stich now! command generates the final image.

It is possible to see the result with the preview panorama button (the blue square in a black frame in the buttons bar), but it's not as useful as with a panorama and the final result is fast to generate.

In the stich tab, use the stich now! command to generate the resulting image.

It is necessary to crop it to have the final image.
