Learning Math & Music Facts for Kids Until your child commits basic math facts to memory, they'll spend a lot of time counting on their fingers. I've found that an effective approach is to have your child systematically write down the facts they want to memorize on a piece of scrap paper. Start at the beginning: addition of one digit numbers. Have them rewrite the facts several times over a few days and then try the tests on this page to assess retention. Start by giving the largest time allotment per answer. As your child improves their accuracy with a given test type, you can add more challenge by reducing the time to answer. This site is kid tested - it was invented to help my daughter (who coined the name "RoboDad") learn her math facts. It served her well and I hope it helps you too! | ![]() |
