Search First
You're likely to find threads with relevant answers to questions people have asked in the past. You may even find one that answers the question you have. You may also want to check out the Map Maker Help Center.
Post to the correct Forum
The MYW community has 4 officially supported forums: Announcements, General Map Maker, Review requests, Coffee Shops, as well as many Regional Forums. Make sure you are posting your question or comment to the appropriate discussion forum. Please note that all conversations (except Coffee Shop) should be about Map Maker. If they are not, you may want to try Google Maps Help, KML, and Google Earth forums.
Tell us your story
The more descriptive you can be, the more likely others can understand the full picture of what you're asking. Explain what you're trying to do and why you're doing it. Provide step by step instructions for how to someone can recreate the the issue you are having along with details to what operating system (Windows, Mac, etc) and what browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc) you are using will also help others be more effective in resolving the problem at hand.
Add a Link
It's much easier for people to "follow along" with you when you provide a link to what and where you are mapping in Map Maker or even a screenshot. This means people are more likely to understand the issue you have found and give useful feedback. See how to get a link from Map Maker here.
