 Current projects
  • Map Sudan - Following the historic referendum for self-determination that took place in Jan 2011, the coming months are critical to the future of Sudan!
  • Map slums around the world - Maps are a vital component of activities to improve slums and the lives of slum dwellers. Let's work together to increase the quality and quantity of data on slum areas and the areas' visibility through mapping.
  • Crisis in the Horn of Africa - Help create detailed maps using your local knowledge of places, such as cities, roads, bodies of water and other natural landmarks. The map data that you contribute will be shared periodically with the UN agencies which are engaged in this crisis.

 Past events
We've seen some very fun and successful events so far and would love to learn about more!  The events have helped us gather feedback to improve Map Maker and have also helped users make friends and learn from each other.

2011

Geo Community Summit - Barcelona


The Europe Middle East Geo Community Summit in 
Barcelona gave our top Europe and Middle East mappers
chance to meet each other as well as members of the
Map Maker moderation team.

Geo Community Summit - US


The US Geo Community Summit in California allowed
our brand new US mappers to meet and greet at
the Google Headquarters.


2010

MapMod Zurich


The MapMod 2010 Zurich Conference was an opportunity to bring together top users for SketchUp, Building Maker, and Map Maker.


2009

Map Maker Conference Bangalore


The Map Maker 2009 Bangalore Conference was our first attempt to contact and award some of the top contributors to Map Maker.


Geo Community Summit - Singapore


gave our top Asia mappers a chance to meet each other
as well as members of the Map Maker engineering team.






















Africa Super Mappers Conference


region-wide gathering of top Map Maker users and took
place in Nairobi, Kenya.
