About Me

I am an instructor at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff and Alliance, Nebraska, located in the Nebraska panhandle.  While my primary teaching duties revolve around Composition and Literature, I incorporate Nebraska history into my curriculum, both through focused writing assignments and contextual studies of the writings of John G. Neihardt and Loren Eiseley.  I also, along with my brother, Colin Croft, give periodic presentations on Nebraska cartography, having been a guest of the wonderful North Platte Valley Museum in Gering, Nebraska, and at the annual Wellness Festival in Scottsbluff.  The collection, and study, of early Nebraska material, especially maps, and the dissemination of information regarding the development of our state, are passions of mine.

As I am always willing to create, and give, lecture or discussion-based presentations to community organizations who have a desire to learn more about the history of Nebraska, feel free to contact me, Brian Croft, at nebraska1854@gmail.com or at my WNCC office number, 308-763-2006.
