Here are your Maps and Charts!
The contents of this web site have been offered as a complement to the main site,
The main site is WEB 1. When you click on a map link in the main site you will be directed to a map or chart on this web site. To return to the story, use one of these choices: (a) use the BACK button (b) use the WEB 1 link on the navigation bar (left top) or, if you already have Web 1 open, just click on it to bring it forward. Try not to build up extra pages behind these two.
Here on these pages you will get acquainted with a part of old Ohio. Boundaries and changing township names were common in the early 1800s. As settlers came in and the land surveys were completed, it became necessary to make these changes. The main site presents real information and records from many sources to describe a series of events in Freeport Township concerning the community's people, some of their land and tax records, and old history. We'll reveal unknown facts and solve some perceived problems of old research concerning the two Quaker cemeteries. When I say 'perceived' I refer to my own perceptions, so if that has been my experience, maybe others have, also. The collection of maps we have are of varied sources. Be patient while viewing the very old maps. They are better than having nothing to show for those time periods. I have drawn some very good close-up maps to show detail and you will appreciate them.
See replica of the (217) bronze plaque shown in the above photo. Then close the page to return to the story.
