http://www.aps.edu/parents/understanding-dba
The APS Communications/Web Department has created a parent-friendly web page that explains the District Benchmark Assessment (DBA). The page includes information on what benchmark assessments are; the difference between the DBA and the SBA; who takes the test; what subjects are tested; how these test scores are used to improve student progress, and more. The page also includes a video featuring Chief Academic Officer Linda Sink explaining why our students take these tests and how the results are used to improve education. In addition, it includes several helpful links. The web address for the page is above. It also can be accessed from the APS homepage at www.APS.edu by clicking “Understanding District Benchmark Assessments” in the orange box under Parents.

WATCH D.O.G.S.
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is an innovative program of the National Center for Fathering focusing on prevention of violence in our nation's schools by using the positive influence of fathers and father-figures for a two-fold purpose:  (1) to provide an unobtrusive presence in the schools; and (2) to be a positive and active role-model for students at their school.  WATCH D.O.G.S. are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. school.
