In 1933 fifteen World War I veterans banded together and founded our post. In June of 1934 The American Legion granted a charter officially forming Manteno American Legion Post 755.
Today our membership totals over 200 men and women from all branches of the military. Our membership has served during all conflicts since our founding.
Post 755 has grown to be a pillar of our community and is governed by elected officers and an elected Executive Committee.
Post 755 runs a profitable and fully licensed business. Open to the public, proceeds fund all of our activities. Our business consists of a Lounge, Restaurant and Rental Hall.
Post 755 also owns and operates a memorial park complete with a pavilion. Located at the corner of M ain and 3Rd Street the park is open to public use.
Our Color Guard presents our nations colors at Manteno High School events, Manteno Youth Softball League opening day festivities, Manteno Oktoberfest Lighted Parade and whenever else called upon. Our Color Guard also stands as Honor Guard for our departed comrades. |
