The Domain is used by many individuals for a variety of purposes.
The Society consciously works to improve three activities that we note on this page; playground, walking and landscape and environment. While "the white cottage" is owned and operated by the Council, access, parking, grounds maintenance etc are via a Council-Domain Committee agreement.
In addition to these activities, there are other reasons why people use the Domain; model plane flying. Please, if you have photos or other information we can add to the site, please do.
Playground | Landscape and environment  The Domain now abuts the main Mangawhai-Kaiwaka Road, residential subdivision, the residential Mangawhai Park and the upper reaches of the estuary. Over the years the adjoining land uses have changed, many trees have passed their use-by date and funds were not available for major improvements. However in the mid 20 noughties a conscious decision was made to embark on a programme of landscape development focussed on appropriate boundary screen planting and removing weeds (including wattles etc) alongside the estuary and replacing with planting to encourage wildlife and integrate with walking and rest areas.
