Our
original side logo was taken from the Malmesbury coat of arms. We were
granted the right to use these arms by the Malmesbury Town Council in
late 2005, for which we are very grateful. This is the design we use on
our side's fleeces and it featured prominently on our original website.
It can still be found being used at the bottom of our home page on this
website. We feel that the history & design of the town arms
reflects the more traditional aspects of our Morris side and the
history of the ancient borough that we represent. In 2007 we decided we wanted to have a banner for the side to display when we are performing. We approached a talented professional Graphic Designer & Design Lecturer named Martin Evans to provide some designs for use on the banner. We were so pleased with what he came up with that his design is now also being used as our new logo on the website. Apart from being used on the banner and website we also intend to have T-Shirts made up with this logo for use in more informal occasions, such as when we are running Morris Dancing workshops. We feel that Martin's design reflects the fun aspects of Morris Dancing - especially the fun, energy & enthusiasm that we aim to bring to performances - and we are eternally grateful for all his hard work on the design. Should you be interested in using Martin's design skills email us and we'll pass on your details to him. Martin also modified the design for a badge which all members wear. The badge has our website address on it so that we can give a badge to anybody interested in the side and they'll have our contact details available through this website. |
