Remote Captioning Using The Internet Using a service called StreamText, realtime captions can be provided anywhere in the world where there is an Internet connection. An audio feed from your location is provided to the realtime captioner by either phone or an Internet audio provider like Skype. The realtime captioner writes what they hear on a shorthand machine and the text is relayed back to your location via the Internet. The relayed text can be viewed on your computer screen or projected onto a larger screen. The StreamText interface is customizable by the end-user for text size, font type, font color, font size, and background color. The quality of the text provided to you is dependent on the quality of the audio feed provided to the reatime captioner. Click the link below for a demonstration of the StreamText technology.
