Dedicated to eliminating the communications barrier!
The Americans With Disabilities Act
The ADA requires that appropriate auxiliary aids and services be furnished to ensure that communication with persons with disabilities is as effective as communications with others.
Auxiliary aids and services include a wide range of services and devices for ensuring effective communication.
The Department of Justice has added text displays, Communication Access Realtime Translation(CART), and opened and closed captioning to the list of appropriate services.
In determining what type of auxiliary aid and service is necessary, a public entity shall give primary consideration to the requests of the individual with disabilities.
