Lacy Neck Warmer

  • I used size 3 needles but I knit very loosely.   Gauge isn't terribly important as long as you come up with something firm enough for the pattern to show and loose enough to fit over your head.

  • Approximately 200 yards of lace weight yarn.  Make sure it's lovely and soft and something you'd want against your skin.

Round1: (k1, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, k1, p1) repeat to end of round.

Round 2: (k7, p1) repeat to end of round.

Round 3:  (k2tog, yo, k3, yo, ssk, p1) repeat to end of round.

Funky Stitch:  purl front and back (p1fb) This is how I chose to increase in the purl stitches without leaving a hole.I can't explain it nearly as well as this video does:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPJCawekDfY

K one round.

Begin lace pattern and continue in pattern until piece measures 5 inches from cast on edge, ending with row 4 of lace pattern

Round 11:  (k2tog, yo, k3, yo, ssk, p4),  repeat to end of round.

Round 12:  (k7, p4) repeat to end of round.

Continue in this fashion, adding one purl stitch to each purl column in round one of the lace pattern until the purl columns are 6 stitches wide.  You should have 208 stitches on the needle at this point.  Complete rows 2-4 of lace pattern and then bind off loosely.  Wear and enjoy!
