Madness Letters

The Team:
Mission and Vision:

Madness Letters is a new kind of book experience.  The purpose of this project is to allow the reader to fully immerse themselves into the adventures of other people.  Madness Letters is a non-fictional narrative narrated by Emilio Cecconi, Franz Ignacio and Ashley Ahn.

Emilio’s story arc is focused on coming to terms with being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in December 2008.  In order to accomplish this it was necessary to revisit memories which his mind made him forget.  Emilio was able to piece together a sense of identity after going through thousands of pages of letters, journal entries, yearbook posts, and saved conversations.

This paper trail led Emilio to finally reread the multiple years of letter correspondence with his father.  Emilio was separated from his father for over six years.  Those letters were written while his father was dying of cancer.  Those letters served as motivation when first read. They served as salvation when reread.

Unlike most memoirs which are egocentric, Madness Letters tells the story of relationships and their healing ability from multiple perspectives.  This kind of integration has previously only been possible in fiction writing.

Interested in Franz and Ashley’s stories?  See the updates on the website.  The book is being written now and comments are greatly appreciated.
