BY-LAWS OF MADERA HELD ARCHERS AND BOW HUNTERS ARTICLE I members present at meeting. The applicant need not be present to be nominated or voted on. The applicant's membership shall be voted on by a show of hands of the members present. lfaccepted for membership by unanimous vote, the applicant, after payment in full of all regular fees and dues, shall be issued a membership card. If an applicant is rejected for membership, he shall be notified by the nominating club member. ARTICLE II General membership ................... $120.00 Each membership shall include: mother, father, sons, and daughters under the age prescribed by theSenior membership.......................$ 40.00 Honorary membership ................. No Dues state, living in the same household. Senior membership shall include any person 62 years of age or older. Section 2. All money collected for dues for the Madera Field Archers above what was formerly assessed the members is to be set aside in a separate account from the other accounts and can only be used to but land for an archery range and the building of structures of said land. At any time membership is so low that there is not ten members in good standing at the meeting to vote on said proposition, removal of this fund for purchasing land or erecting structures cannot be done. In any case of the failure of the Madera Field Archers to function as a club and the officers at that time choose to disband the club, all money set aside for the purpose of buying land and building structures shall be put into a trust fund and held in trust for the future starting of another archery club in the county of Madera. Section 3. Payment of annual dues will be as follows: $60.00 will be due on January I st of each year and the remaining $60.00 will become due on the following June 30th. Section 4. All fees and assessments levied on a member shall be paid before dues will be accepted. Section 5. Any member who resigns his membership or who is expelled from the club shaH forfeit all monies accepted from him or her by the club. Section 6. The range captain will set a date by which all targets must be cleaned. Any member not having his or her target(s) cleaned will be automatically assessed $15.00. ARTICLE III Section 1. That all members having been assigned targets and a list possessed by the secretary. willhave them in condition required by the range captain or shall forfeit his or her right to participate in all or any shoots put on by the Madera Field Archers. The range captain shall see to it that all general members have the tfiuls and targets in shape. Section 2. Honorary members shall be exempt from club duties. Section 3. All members shall be eligible and encouraged to attend meetings and enter into discussions. Section 4. All members shall be eligible to make motions at meeting but only general members shall be allowed to second or vote on a motion. ARTICLE IV Section 2. An annual club championship tournament shall be held each year in the months of October, November, and December. Section 3. Rules for club shoots may be decided by vote of the membership. Section 4. Official tournaments shall be held in accordance with the rules of the National Field archers Association and/or the California Bowmen Hunters and Field Archers Association. Section 5. Members' scores in club shoots and tournaments shall be kept and averaged regularly for the purpose of establishing the competitive shooting class. Section 6. The nature and awarding prizes, medals, trophies, etc., for club shoots or tournaments shall be decided by vote of the club officers other than guests. Section 7. At any time a guest has previously shot the Madera outdoor range once, he or she shall pay a shooting fee of$1.00 for each club shoot not to exceed three shoots in all. But in any case, this will not allow them to participate in the winning of any awards or to qualify towards any Madera Field Archers trophy shoot. ARTICLE V Section 1. Amendments or changes to these by-laws may be made by three-fourths (3/4) vote of the general members present provided that the proposed amendment or change has been read at the previous meeting and that all members have been notified of the meeting and the amendment or change to be voted on . ****************************************************************************************************************************************** This constitutes a full, true, and correct copy of the by-laws of the Madera Field Archers and Bow Hunters as amended to December 18, 1995. ****************************************************************************************************************************************** CONSTITUTION OF MADERA FIELD ARCHERS AND BOW HUNTERS ARTICLE I Section 1. The name of this organization shall be the "Madera Field Archers and Bow Hunters".Herein called "the club". Section la. This club will at all times operated in the County of Madera and at no time will this section 1 of Article I be changed as long as the Madera Field Archers and bow Hunters be in existence. Section 2. The purpose of this club shall be to encourage field archery, instinctive bow-hunting, and to further the practice of good fellowship among archers. Section 3. The official insignia and emblem of the club shall be a circular background with a border and a ring within the border. Between the two lines shall be the inscription: "Madera Field Archers and Bow Hunters" in lettering. Within the smaller ring shall be a cartoon line drawing of an Indian boy with a bow and a back-quiver. Section 4. The uniform of the club shall be ofa type passed on by the club, the club emblem to be affixed to the shirt or blouse, wherever appropriate. Section 5. The fiscal year of the club shall begin on December 1st. ARTICLE II Section 1. The membership of the club shall, according to their individual status, be referred to as: general member; and honorary member. Section 2. Associate membership may be granted to men and women who belong to other archery clubs, residing out of Madera County. Section 3. Honorary membership may be granted without cost or obligation to persons who by their deed and character has become a friend to the club or to whom the club feels a debt of gratitude. Section 4. Any persons, upon being granted membership into the club, shall assume unto himself a moral obligation to uphold and defend the constitution and by-laws of the club and to conduct himself in an orderly manner at all its meetings and events so as not to bring discredit upon the membership. Section 5. Any member may be expelled with just cause by 2/3 vote of the members present at a special meeting called for such a purpose. ARTICLE Ill Section 1. The officers of the club shall consist of president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and range captain. Any two offices may, at the pleasure of its membership, be combined except for president and vice-president. Section 2. The president shall preside at all meetings, preserve order. and enforce the constitution and by-laws. He or she shall decide all questions of order. He or she shall not vote except by ballot but shall have the deciding vote in case of a tie when voting by any other method. He or she shall authorize the expenditures of the club money by the treasurer. He or she shall appoint all committees and call special meetings, either by his or her own initiative or when requested by five general members in good standing. All members are to be notified of such meetings. Section 3. The vice-president shall assist the president in the discharge of his or her official duties and fill his or her place in case of absence. Section 4. The secretary shall keep correct minutes of each meeting and an attendance record of each member, together with his full name, address, and all other pertinent information regarding him. He or she shall keep records of attendance and scores of all club shoots and tournaments. He or she shall serve notice to all members of club shoots, all special meetings, and any other as directed by the president. He or she shall read and conduct all official correspondence (except when otherwise directed.). Section 5. The treasurer shall receive all moneys paid into the club and keep accurate record of the same, together with a record of all disbursements and receipts. He or she shall keep a correct account of each member's financial standing. At regular meetings, he or she shall make an oral financial report to the membership. Before the close of each fiscal year, he or she shall submit his or her records for auditing at the pleasure of the membership. Section 6. The range captain shall be responsible for keeping the range in good condition and shall have power to solicit help from members in maintaining the range and he or she shall have authority to recommend work or materials necessary to maintain the range. He or she shall have custody of and be responsible for all club property belonging to the range. Section 7. Any officer may be removed, either with or without cause, from his or her office by vote of the members present at a special meeting called for such a purpose. Section 8. lfany office is not in attendance for three (3) consecutive meetings, the office shall be declared vacant and an election held to fill such vacancy until the next regular election. ARTICLE IV Section 1. Nomination for the club officers shall be made at the regular November meeting.Section 2. Election for the club officers shall be by secret ballot at the regular December meeting. Additional nominations for officers may be made at this meeting just prior to the election. Majority vote shall elect. Section 3. No absent member may be nominated for the office unless his absence is due to official club business or is confined by a doctor due to illness or injury. Section 4. Officers-elect shall assume their respective duties on January 1 st following the election and shall be installed at the first meeting in January. Section 5. The following oath shall be administered to all new officers upon installation by the outgoing president. "I (name), do solemnly promise, upon my honor, that I will truly and faithfully and to the best of my ability, perform the duties of my office for the ensuing tenn, as prescribed in the constitution and by-laws of this club. I further promise that at the close of my official tenn, I will deliver all monies property of this club in my possession, to my successor in office". ARTICLE V Section 1. The members of the club shall have complete control of the activities, policies. andproperty of the club at all times. ARTICLE VI Section 1. The club shall hold a regular meeting at least once a month to conduct whatever businessmay legally come before it and may call special meetings as often as necessary to conduct matters of an urgent or special nature. Section 2. Notice by mail or equivalent shall be sent to all members at least 48 hours prior to the calling of a special meeting, stating the time and place of such meeting. Section 3. The following order of business shall be used to conduct regular meeting:
applicable in the conduct of all club business. Section 5. Voting shall be by secret ballot on application for membership, election of officers, dismissal of officers, and expulsion of members. Voting on all other issues or motions shall be by raising of the right arm, to be counted and so declared by the chair. Anyone not voting in an open vote shall be counted in the affirmative. Section 6. Absentee ballots may be accepted by the secretary in writing, prior to the meeting on the following issues only:
ARTICLE VII Section 1. The president shall appoint all committees. The first named person shall be its chairmanuntil said committee meets. Section 2. No members shall be exempt from serving on a committee unless excused by vote of the club, unless he or she is a member of another committee. No member shall be appointed on a committee in his or her absence. Section 3. Committees holding monies of the club shall at the next regular meeting, deliver the same into the hands of the treasurer, together with all the vouchers and accounts. No committee shall be discharged until it has done so. ARTICLE VIII Section 1.
