Madera Field Archery Range GATE #1 Left Unlocked!

posted Jan 17, 2009 7:59 PM by Madera Field Archers   [ updated Jan 25, 2009 8:54 PM ]

There was a recent occurrence after the last range work party in January.   When leaving the range, one of the members did not lock the main gate on the paved road when they left.  One of the neighboring landowners saw this and removed our lock and placed his own in its place.  There were three other members still at the range and when they tried to leave they could not open the replaced lock.  They had to contact the landowner to let them out, which he did after he gave them a royal chewing out!

Remember to CLOSE AND LOCK the gate when entering AND leaving the range.  Everytime, NO EXCEPTIONS!  The gate must be locked at all times.

In loving memory of Dan Champ
January 26, 1968 to January 6, 2009

Don Champ is survived by his wife Laura Champ and children Nikki and Cody of Clovis, his parents Mike and Patsy of Clovis, brother Mike of Fresno, Mother-in-law Cathryn Roberts of Clovis, Father-in-law Warren O. Baldridge of Oklahoma, his brother and sister-in-laws: Les and Renee Baldridge of Oaklahoma, Kevin and Tammy Baldridge of Clovis, niece Megan and nephew Dusty.  They are comforted knowing that he is in the hands of the Lord.

Don loved nature and the outdoors and was devoted to his family and friends.  The love of his life, Laura was his best friend and soul mate.  Laura devoted her life to Don and is heartbroken to have him taken so soon.  His children Nikki and Cody were the other staples of his life.  He raised a strong, respectful, and caring son whom he was very proud of, and a daughter whose heart he taught kindness and compassion that he cherished.  Strength and integrity were the embodiment of his character.  He had the strength of the world in his hands and in his heart the will of the grizzly bear.  He was our rock and
will forever live in our hearts.

As Don was not a flowers kind of guy, we would appreciate any contributions be made in his name to the archery club,
which he was active in and supported.
