Madeline: Hi guys this is Madeline Stocks!
Sarah: and this is Sarah Katz! Madeline: We’re going to tell you a high school memory in which our morals were put to the test. Sarah: This memory is somewhat private, but we wont reveal any names for obvious reasons. Madeline: It all began one night during Junior Year, a few of our friends went clubbing, including us. Sarah: Everything was going great… Madeline: except we had major blisters on our feet from dancing all night… Sarah: Until we got home from the Studio City, where the club was… Madeline: We all decided to go over to our friend’s house to crash for the night… Sarah: and that’s when things got a little interesting… *laughs* Madeline: Two of our friends had pulled over earlier that night to get something out of one of our friend’s house… Sarah: we didn’t think it was a big deal until they showed us what they had brought to the get together… Madeline: It was Smirnoff Vodka.. Sarah: We’re not goody two shoes, but one of our friends was driving the next morning and was planning on drinking… Madeline: They were also planning on swimming that evening, I was nervous because I had just gotten CPR certified and didn’t know if they would need my assistance and my skills would have to be put to the test. Sarah: I was also scared because of all of the drinking and driving stories that I had heard in the past including some of which my friend’s were involved in. Madeline: Sarah and I decided that we would stand up for our beliefs and tell our friends what we really thought. Sarah: We told them firmly that if they were going to drink, we were not going to be apart of it and we would leave the house. Madeline: We also told them that we would not allow them to drink under any circumstances in which they would be under the influence that night. Sarah: This memory is so vivid in my mind, and I look back on this night and realize that Maddie and I did the right thing and possibly saved our friend’s lives that night. Madeline: It put our morals to the test and it took courage and guts to stand up against our close friends and tell them that they couldn’t risk their lives like that. Sarah: I hope you all learned a lesson from our story and realize that when it comes to human lives, especially that of your friends, telling someone no can be the best choice you’ve ever made. Madeline: We’re going off to college and our high school memories, will lead us down the right path for many years to come. Sarah: SENIORS 09 BABY! Madeline: 09! |
