An important part of the PBIS program is the consistent implementation of recognitions, rewards and consequences. There is increased recognition for appropriate, targeted behaviors and more consistent consequences for that which is inappropriate.
Some Examples of Incentives
- extra recess
- choosing from the prize box
- eating lunch with a staff member in a special location
- awards, stickers or pencils
- postcards sent home
- bulletin boards displaying student's positive behavior
- Great Calls Home-Students are nominated by a staff member and the assistant principal makes a positive call home. After the call home their photo is displayed on a bulletin board and an award goes home with the student.
