About Us... At our April 15, 2011 General Meeting, the Strategic Planning Committee presented the Steering Committee approved Mission and Vision Statements. By a unanimous vote they were both approved. Below are the new Mission Statement and new Vision Statement. The previous Statement of Purpose may be viewed in the attachment at the bottom of this page.
Mission Statement Men of All Colors Together (MACT)-Philadelphia, Inc. is a gay, multiracial and multicultural organization committed to equality, diversity and justice in humankind through social, educational and other means to support the LGBTQAI communities
Vision Statement Men of All Colors Together (MACT)-Philadelphia, Inc. strives to foster supportive environments wherein racial, social and cultural barriers can be overcome and the goal of human equality realized. MACT-Philadelphia has national visibility and recognition as a result if its unique branding around issues involving racism, sexism, homophobia, heterosexism, HIV/AIDS, ageism, ableism, classism, and other inequities in our communities and in our lives. Through the development of an ongoing leadership base, which mentors existing members and encourages the emergence of new leaders, MACT-Philadelphia provides the requisite forum for a culturally diverse membership wherein individual needs for safety and support may be furthered and continued into perpetuity. MACT-Philadelphia values racial parity and is known for extensive outreach to disenfranchised populations, as well as the ability to network and partner successfully with other organizations in activities designed to collectively remove racial, social and cultural barriers locally, regionally and on a national level.
The goals of MACT-Philadelphia, Inc. are: (a) To engage in educational, social, cultural and political activities, to discuss and overcome prejudice and discrimination due to race, sexual orientation, and gender, and to realize the goal of human equality. (b) To offer opportunities for multiracial, multicultural socialization in an atmosphere conducive to initiating friendships and to offer support for those relationships of an ongoing nature. MACT/Philadelphia is a chapter of the National Association of Black and White Men Together (NABWMT), a nationwide network of affiliated and developing chapters in many cities. MACT/Philadelphia welcomes single and coupled people of ALL ages, genders, and sexual orientations, as well as racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. You can be straight, lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender, and/or in a same race couple, if you support our mission statement above, you are most welcome to join us.
WHAT WE ARE NOT.....
Certainly members connect from time to time with other people they meet at our functions, which is wonderful, but we are not a sex club.
