Halloween 1970 Anne Jorgensen (age 10) dressed in real Japanese kimono that her father had brought back from a trip. The Japanese shoes and socks were fun, not to mention the paper umbrella, make-up and fan! I believe my father still has that kimono in his attic on Newark Street. Not sure who the second girl is, then Susan Jorgensen (age 11) in her home-made tissue paper flower attire (oh my!), her best friend, Caroline Stern was her twin and her brother Jody Stern was a pumpkin. Donald Hirsch writes "I took the "lazy" option of going to the Halloween parade wearing a long piece of cotton wool plus straw hat, and calling myself Rip Van Winkle. My brother Phil, more imaginatively, decided to go as Rip Van Winkle's tree. According to my family photo album we won a prize. Forty years later, napping is one of my favourite hobbies." "Which Witch is Which?" Halloween 1968 Patsy Rowse (left) and her twin Carolee Rowse (right). Brother Robert is leaning into the picture on left and Mrs. Rowse, who designed these first prize winning costumes, is standing behind Carolee. Halloween 1966 Horse by Danny Moore and Sean Grogan; costume created by Adelia "Dee' Moore (Danny and Sean won prize of plastic pumpkin full of candy). Lion by Susanna Moore. Pirate by Patience Moore. Halloween 1966 Halloween 1966 |
