The beach is on the other side of this massive dune - -5 degrees out when this shot of frozen sand
was captured - but it looks like summer ...

The image below was captured by my Mom in Turkey last week ... snapped from her point of view in the hot air balloon.  Stunning.

Foggy photos

My new (previous) business card:

My previous card was a colossal disaster of nasty old fonts in a very typical layout.  If I ever find it, I will post it here for a comparison study.

Young Leiper's team win the 2008 Tri-County championship!

Google everything.  Something for everyone so you can't say you don't have it or access to it.  And it's free. Well here is the most universal and strictly utilitarian web space for everything you need to show the world.

Just like the big box retailers that have one of everything even if it is made for the masses at the lowest price.

Welcome to cut rate blog space.  The following is a collection of random thoughts and ideas that might help you understand how I think and ply my craft as a videographer. Along with other observations. Google mail me here.

But let's begin with some cool stuff. Below is a recent favorite of mine. Very little Photoshopery  of this image taken in February 2006. The gradient of the sky was naturally occuring during the rainstorm that was between the lens and the home. Nothing more than a bit of sponge on the grass to bring up the green and the foreground was burned to match the properly exposed background. Not bad for a shot taken while huddled under a parka in a freezing rainstorm. Oh and the vignetting is from the C.Polarizer.

Real men do cry

Gushue, you are the real Canadian story in Italy. That tear streaked cell call home on the flip phone to your Mom has to be one of the best bits of tv I have ever seen from an athelete humbled by the process of winning at the highest level. And to drag out a 50 year old who should be at the sunset of his career rather than chasing the top prize is even more special. Thanks.

Browsers

You're likely viewing this page with IE version 6. Strange how I am forced to edit this with Mozilla, since IE wants to mail home with the ugly details of why the googlewebpageeditor can't be edited with Java occurring simultaneously.

Symmetry ... almost ... see below

This kind of photography is a riot. You have about  an hour to stage lighting and set up 32 shots inside and out, get out the door and return to edit and publish to web plus print agencies so the exposure can begin immediately. If you keep your business goals at the forefront while still delivering top quality work for your client then your profits are on pace all the while keeping your cardio commitment for the day.

Shot of the year

Unless you know the equipment in the stable here, I will give you 20 guesses as to how the above photo was taken. I was shocked. You'll be amazed.
