Parents/Guardians

"Parents/guardians are the most important influence in a child's life outside of school. Long after direct learning from parents/guardians in a child's early years gives way to formal education, parents/guardians continue to play a key role in student success through the attitudes they help to shape and the direct supports they provide."

Sometimes, it can be difficult to know how to help one's child as they progress from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, and from learning how to read and write to beginning to speak French for the first time. Often a lack of knowledge in a particular area (for example, French) can discourage and undermine the confidence of a supportive parent/guardian. In this section, I have collected together some helpful tips for parents/guardians who want to know how they can be of greater assistance to their child with regard to their success in school.
