M2SPORTS ELITE FIELD HOCKEY TEAM TRYOUTS

M2sports uses sports to work with children and their families, to develop the life-skills, and values that will last a lifetime. M2sports uses sports to help children develop important life-skills such as respect, self-confidence, teamwork and responsibility. These values are essential for children to become healthy contributing individuals in today’s world. Our goal is to develop young people who will make the right choices in their education and in their physical, personal, social and emotional lives. We provide a safe place in which to learn and play that gives children care free and fun learning opportunities and leadership development.

Daily Goals:

Provide children the opportunity to play in a positive, supportive and rewarding environment that emphasizes enjoyment, positive reinforcement and skill development.
Construct an environment that will instill and exemplify values of character, dedication, fair play ad interpersonal and team skills.
Encourage the involvement of player’s families in their overall development.

M2sports elite field hockey program has been very successful the last few years, having attended Festival and qualifying for the National Indoor tournament in 2009-2010 season. We have graduated several players and are looking forward to another highly successful season. We will be holding tryouts on July 14^th 8:30 pm for U16 and U14 and July 21^st at 8:30 for U19 2009. We are planning on fielding the following teams; 2 or 3 U19 teams, 1 U16 team and 1 U14 team. Tryout registration fee is $25

In order to play U16, you must be 15 on January 1^st of 2010 and 13 years old on January 1, 2010 for U14

M2sports financial and team obligations for the 2009-2010 club team season. Team members will receive no refund of team fees once you have made the team. The team will be selected and there will be a noted first, second and third team. Known as M2sports elite, m2sports white and m2sports black.

U19 program

Team fee $300 (due upon making the team).

Practice Fee $15 per practice (due at the beginning of each practice you attend) it should be noted that playing time will be determined on each players ability. As a coach I know I feel more comfortable playing someone I can see improving each day. The practice fee should be paid each practice so you do not pay for a practice before you attend that practice.

Tournament fee $45 per tournament players will only have to pay for tournaments they attend. Tournament fee must be paid the week of the tournament. You can bring the payment to the practice prior to the tournament.

Tournament Policy & Philosophy: You are not expected to attend every event but the timing of the tournaments is crucial. As we prepare for Festival, NIT Qualifiers, etc., it is crucial to have all team members present for preparatory tournaments. All tournament participation is dependent on getting into the event and carrying a full roster. The rosters posted at tryouts represent outdoor teams (Festival, Disney) which roster more players. The indoor roster is smaller, with a maximum of 10 players per team, thus we usually have more teams when we head indoors. Coaches will evaluate players continually during training and develop team rosters prior to the beginning of the indoor tournament season. Our goal is to provide 6-8 tournament opportunities for each of our players, so each athlete will attend a subset of the tournaments. The tournament schedule is always evolving, and will be updated as more information becomes known, such as the date and location for our National Indoor Tournament Qualifier assigned by US Field Hockey. We will be developing a number of fundraising opportunities to help off-set the price for families that are interested.
