Celebrating Galileo's Birthday

Hear Paul Brunton, Senior Curator from the State Library, read from a rare edition of Galileo's Dialogue (the book that nearly led to him being burnt at the stake), with Italian Renaissance & early Baroque music performed by The Muses' Salon on period instruments.

Romance your partner under the stars this Valentine's evening on the weekend of Galileo's birthday. Begin the evening at sunset with the passionate musical intoxication of music from the Italian Renaissance performed by The Muses' Salon (Anna Fraser soprano, Laura Vaughan viola da gamba, & Andrew Byrne lutes). Enjoy an Italian-style supper in the Observatory marquee while viewing the night skies through telescopes and then tour to the domes.
