The Northwest Heritage Resources center offers interesting narrated audio guides that families could use to guide a weekend trip or small vacation along various routes in Washington, as well as a calendar of cultural events around the state. The center alsooffers interesting teaching materials and information about indiginous artists from around the world who are working in the Northwest.

The Center for Multicultural Education at the University of Washington, Seattle WA, focuses on research projects and activities designed to improve practice related to equity issues, intergroup relations, and the achievement of all students. The Center also engages in services and teaching related to its research mission.  

Global Source is a non-profit organization serving elementary and secondary education in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Global Source is a leader in helping teachers and schools chart the landscape of critical and under served areas of education-- both locally and globally.

Founded by author Gary R. Howard the REACH Center, a nationally-recognized non-profit organization has positioned itself as one of the most respected establishments to provide cultural diversity services to agencies throughout the United States, Canada and Australia.

In Washington State, the Board of Education, the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Human Rights commission have developed an Equity in Education Joint Policy.

In 2003, the Oregon Department of Education published a Multicultural Education Resources directory with a focus on programs appropriate for grades K-12: minority student achievement, race, ethnicity, culture, gender, disability, national origin, sexual orientation, and educational equity. While we have not verified every link, the guide is interesting and comprehensive enough that we decided to include it.
