 I am a Phd Candidate in communication and science studies at the University of California, San Diego. I also write software. My research interests are in funding models for online journalism, Chicago pragmatism, and the ethics of knowledge. I founded the news website News About News and contributed to its underlying news engine, The Hourly Press. I lead the Rapid News Awards open source software project which emerged from that work.
