Having exhausted English birth, marriage & death certificates from 1837 onwards and the available 1841-1901 census records, there comes a time when you need to go back further and it gets more difficult to verify names that may belong to your trees. After reading some messages on a genealogy mailing list regarding pre-1700 research, I've taken excerpts and created the Pre-1837 Research Advice page.
