[1] Plot 216 in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Ardclach has the inscription:

"...Erected by Hector McLean shoemaker Mount Pleasant in memory of his children viz Ann, who died Feb 1833 aged 6 years.  And Donald who died May 1846 aged 23 years.  Also William, who died Oct 1847 aged 21 years.  And James who died Nov 1847 aged 17 years.  And Ann who died Nov 1853 aged 16 years..."

Three children dead within eighteen months, two of them within a month of each other.  And so very young.  I wonder what happened to this family?
