[3] I found a December 1906 marriage of Kate Anne Aston to Walter William Fletcher in Gloucester.

After her first husband died (believed murdered), Kate was destitute and had to go to a workhouse.  She then went to work as a nurse in an infirmary; she was in the geriatric ward.  Her sense of smell was such that the smells of the old people were too much for her and she spent as much time cleaning up her own vomit as she did cleaning up the patients.  She then was put in the general ward.

One of her jobs was to dispose of the coal ashes into wooden wagons outside.  They were supposed to be cold when dumped but Kate didn't know that and dumped hot ash.  The wagon caught on fire and the fire spread to several other wagons.  A fireman named John Moore yelled at her for being stupid and put out the fires.  So began their relationship. [5] Marriage certificate: Joe's age at marriage was 24 and he resided in Brookthorpe.  He was a bachelor and his profession was "Carpenter".  Witnesses were William Billingham & Sarah Jane Billingham.  Joe's profession at the time of his daughter Kate's 1913 marriage was "Joiner".

[6] Edwin's profession at the time of his son Joe's 1887 marriage was "Carpenter".
