This site was created by myself in 2008 so I could share with my extended family what I've accumulated and learnt in the last few years.  After spending hundreds of dollars on books and birth, marriage & death certificates, my archives are looking fat and healthy, unlike my bank balance! Very expensive hobby, this.

I'd had no experience in web design and without the wonderful Google Sites all this family information would probably still just be sitting in a drawer somewhere.  It's been a bit of a learning curve and I've just muddled my way through. I thoroughly enjoy mucking around with it.

Some people don't like to share anymore.  They've had bad experiences with unscrupulous persons "stealing" their hard-won work, claiming it as their own and not acknowledging the source.  Quite frankly I don't blame them for getting angry as it's happened to me.  I'd get a flurry of emails from a person but once I'd passed on what I have, I wouldn't hear from them again, not even a thank you, with the information duly turning up on their own site.  It is annoying and discouraging and extremely rude, but those people are more than outweighed by the people out there that generously share what they have.  So to that end, I've tried to acknowledge everyone that has contributed to my collection and have named them as the source.

Without the help and assistance of those family researchers before me, I wouldn't have had any information or data to start with.  I am eternally grateful to many people but in particular my lovely cousin Cathreen, our family history matriach.
