Over thirty years of social exchanges with Biéville-Beuville in Normandy

Introduction to our Association

Newsletter  October 2009

Furry Party Saturday 1st August

Once again, we had a most advantageous view of the Furry parade in fair weather whilst enjoying our picnics and barbecues amongst friends.  Thanks to all who came, contributed and helped.

Halloween Disco  Cancelled    31st October 2009

On reviewing the 600 Celebrations calendar and the commitments of the Committee thereafter, to say nothing of the impending Jazz Brunch, we decided not to hold this event.

Jazz Brunch   Sunday 22nd November 09 – 11 for 11.30am until 2pm  tickets £10.50

Tickets are now selling for this regular event from Brian Cotton or via the Post Office.  Seat reservations will again be organised allowing groups to sit together.  Volunteers to help before during and after the event are requested to email the Chairman.  Thanks to those who have already come forward.

Christmas Fayre   Biéville-Beuville  5th December 2009

As the regulars are not able to go this year, are there any members who would like a swift visit to France, taking English fancy goods and setting up a market stall?  Once again, contact the Chairman for more details.

AGM 2010  Thursday 4th February 7:30pm Village Hall

Now is the time to start thinking about the future of the Lympstone Twinning Association.  There will be several members stepping down from the already depleted Committee after many years of sterling service.  The present Committee will have to consider our options in January and present them at the AGM.  However, we would like to hear the views of all members in the meantime.  If no new members come forward, the way in which the Association operates will have to radically change.

Hosting 2010   Thursday 13th May - Sunday 16th May 2010

Biéville-Beuville twinners will be visiting us again at this time.  A planning group already has ideas for this event.   As many members as possible are encouraged to host as this of course is our raison d’être.  Arrangements can be made for those who cannot escape work on Thursday &/or Friday.  The theme for the Saturday Party is 'nautical' which surely gives wide scope for fancy-dress options!   If you have exchanged in the last year or so, please contact the Chairman as to whether or not you can host.

Lympstone Calendar  Available from the Post Office

With six months depicting Twinning Ladies, can you afford to not to have at least one copy?
