Après Noël & AGM 2012

The following changes will only take place after we have hosted Biéville-Beuville in the usual way in April 2012.
At the Annual General Meeting in January, the decision was taken to close the Association in May.  An Extraordinary General Meeting will be held  to do this.
Lympstone remains twinned with Biéville-Beuville and there is no doubt that twinning exchanges will continue. At the Extraordinary General Meeting, an individual may be chosen to act as the main point of contact, disseminate information & to update the website as necessary.

The effect of the closure of Lympstone Twinning Association, is that no local fundraising will take place. Thus the significant expenses attached to recent typical hosting will no longer be raised the Association over two years. Expenses in particular, relating to the Dinner and Entertainment carried out in the Village Hall. Christmas Market sale surpluses might contribute to travellers’ expenses.
Having said that, apart from how costs are paid for, there is no reason why twinning activities should not carry on much as before if there is the will amongst sufficient numbers of people, but in all likelihood, there will be some impact. Popular self-financing events such as Après Noël will no doubt continue.

From the remains of LTA will rise Lympstone Twinners

Recent Events

Christmas Market B-B

Anne & Richard travelled to B-B to sell English Christmas products and fare at their annual seasonal market.  Held within the Village Hall this year, conditions were much more pleasant than in the outdoor market stalls last year.  Temperatures at least 10 degrees higher this year helped also,  but patchy rain persisted.

Jazz Brunch

We held our final Jazz Brunch on Sunday 20th November 2011.  Only 67 seats were taken, but a successful event was enjoyed by all and a satisfactory surplus was addded to reserves.

Welcome to our Association website

Lympstonians have been carrying out social functions and exchanges with folk from Biéville-Beuville in Normandy since the late 1970's. For a little more detail click on: Introduction
