Three areas of need include: students willing to help with a scheduled activity (crafts, games, sewing, cooking..) students willing to share their artistic talents (music, drama, dance), and students willing to use their computer skills to help maintain their new resident care system. They are in need of 1-2 high school students to provide some babysitting services during this time slot. They currently have two young children who need to be watched. | | Ongoing | KUTO (Kids Under Twenty One) is recruiting students to become a KUTO Crisis Worker and staff their Hotline. This is the only telephone hotline staffed entirely by teen volunteers in the area. Students will learn the skills of active listening, problem solving, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention. | | Ongoing | The Villages of St. Peters is a new residential senior community serving seniors who require skilled nursing, assisted living, rehab, and dementia care.They are located near Barnes Hospital just off of Mexico. If you are interested in working with senior citizens and would like to gather some volunteer hours, they are in need of people for a variety of positions. | | Ongoing | People First is a self-advocacy organization composed of, run by and existing for people with developmental disabilities. The Saint Charles chapter meets on the 3rd Monday of each month from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at 800 Friedens Road (just off of 94 and Friedens). The group is looking for some volunteer workers to help in two areas: 1. Provide child care as needed for the members, and 2. Assist with some small group leadership and facilitation.
