As a means of "illuminating" text, I decided to incorporate natural background noise, a series of heart beats, and guitar accompaniment to enhance the idea that it is human nature to disregard others and selfishly act. The heart beat adds to the intensity of this idea and the natural background noise accentuates the reality of this expression of human nature. I found that guitar has a softening effect which offers a nice contrast to the severity of this reflection in the novel.
