ZOGGS PREDATOR FLEX GOGGLES by Ed Smith (June 2011)

If you're a weak (weaker?) swimmer like me it helps to be able to see where you're going. For years I've muddled along through a fogged up veil of mist with leaking goggles - believing that was pretty much the norm. And, the thought of spending £20+ on eye protection appalled me.

Last week I took the plunge and invested in a pair of zogg predators trying them out in the pool and then at the Crooked Lake triathlon.

The 180 degree visibility was impressive. There was no fogging and no leaking. Being Australian they also boast maximum UV protection from the sun - but not experienced any of that yet. I always fiddled about with tightening/loosening goggles in the past - so the easy-to-use 'ratchet' system is a bonus.

I suspect I'll be taking great care of these goggles coming into transition. And, if not placing them in the 'care pouch' provided - certainly not chucking them anywhere. How long will the anti-fogging last - only time will tell.

Verdict: 9 out of 10.
