The beautiful JACKPOT RANCH was our venue again this year. Click the link above for info on booking this gem for your event.Lunch On A Leash (LOL) is an annual event that provides you with an opportunity to take your best friend to lunch....your four-legged best friend. It is an outdoor lunch with delicious catered food for the human & canine patron. This year's agenda included a Doggy Fashion Show during lunch followed by a canine educational/behavior clinic by Nadia Caillou. Maia Kincaid, animal communicator & local author, shared her experiences & offered guidance to enhance patrons' own listening skills. The 'Blur of Fur' radar racecourse was presented by the Greyhounds of the Verde Valley & the fastest dog, "Apache", took home a stuffed squeaky rabbit. The slowest dog, "Pokey" (we're not making this up), took home the stuffed turtle squeaky toy. Dog In Art took many candid shots during the event (especially during the fashion show) & had prints available for patrons on the spot. We'll be posting slideshows from the event as soon as all the photographers out there send them to us. The SILENT AUCTION was wonderful & added over $2000 to the coffers. By the way, we have some dog biscuit mix jars (includes recipe & bone cookie cutter) left over & we'll be putting them in the Golden Bone Pet Products store in Camp Verde for your holiday gift-giving list. Lynn's Casual Kitchen served up another great lunch, as did Rachael's Ruffities with the dog lunch goodies. This event is intended to be a celebration of the human/canine bond while raising money for animal welfare. ALL proceeds from the 2009 LOL are being combined with private donations to offer a grant to Morning Starr Animal Sanctuary & Golden Bone Rescue & Rehab.
