A documentary that highlights the issues of identity and place in the young port-city, as well as the relationship between culture and capital. It details the ambitious transitional plans of Singapores' ultra materialistic focused society and it's new Arts Bodies, to remake the City-state into an International a more soulful Arts Hub. It includes the voices of prominent Artists and Administrators involved in the Singapore Arts Festival, and features selected performances from the 2001 program. With background and insight into the cultural crisis faced by Singaporeans in the recent past, and with directions being taken to tackle it in the future. The documentary is aimed at audiences who are interested in contemporary culture in the south-east Asian context, Arts Festivals, globalization, or Cultural studies. Its' content suits undergraduate students and educated audiences who have a basic understanding of the professional Arts world. It is both discursive in content and aimed at stimulating debate.
