 duration 12 minutes in association with Splinters INC for the Adelaide Fringe Festival Best of the Fringe Award 1992 the outdoor finale of the spectacle large scale theatre show "cathedral of flesh" at the Old Adelaide Jail With most of the vignettes and ensembles throughout the show workshopped and constantly revised and improvised through Grotowski technique, the shows ending culminates into a catharsis of all the elements and huge cast from the ritual of the 3 hour show. By 11 pm there is applause and silence while the quite reflections create a magic in the yard and the preceding alcohol in the outdoor bar is a type of exorcism, like a comforting clairvoyant dream to old jail birds of the past peering through the narrow slits in their hollow cells. Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday for 3 weeks, till late with drinks afterwards with the performers, at the Old Adelaide Gaol. Also featuring the very early debut of the "Snuff Puppets" and a large cast of young innovative artists from Canberra, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide. DVD available on request |
