1. Translating/editing/revision activities (see below for the list of the most relevant ones)
I’m working as a professional (VAT N° 08885611007) since 1986, mainly in the medical publishing area. Among the publishers I have longer worked with are The McGraw-Hill Companies, Publishing Group Italia and Il Pensiero Scientifico Editore and, beside them, many different other publishing houses and agencies both Italian and foreign. I am usually working as professional translator but also on revisions and consulting activities for publishers, commercial companies and other translators, often dealing with problems related to complex terminology and readability. I avail myself of up-to-date information technology, including the option to work with discussion groups/mailing lists on specific projects. Recently I have also taken an interest in CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) and in CMS (Content Management System)use. I have translated material on different topics, published in printing and online, though mainly devoted myself to books on Medicine, Biology, Nursing and Healthcare management. Since 2003 I am a consultant for AZTraduzioni, a translation and interpretership agency owned by AZRoma. Since 1999 member of AITI (Italian Association of Translators and Interpreters) registered as technical translator (medical publishing area). From 1993 through 1999 member of ANITI (Italian National Association of Translators and Interpreters).

School-leaving examination (High School graduation) (Liceo Classico, main subjects Latin and old Greek, grade: 54/60).Medical School (summa cum laude). Qualified to practise the Medical profession. Dental School. Qualified to practise as a Dentist. Post lauream courses in Gastroenterology, Emergency Medicine, Dentistry, Didactics, Communication. Qualified as a secondary (High School) education teacher in healthcare-related subjects (e.g. Mental Hygiene, Child Psychiatry, Anatomy and Physiology, General and Dental Pathology).
Other (not publishing related) working activities: physician, dentist, teacher of healthcare-related subjects in High School (for dental mechanics).

IT: I perfectly master the use of Windows platform and of most of the programmes listed below. I have a good knowledge of HTML. I started using computers in 1988 and Internet since 1994. I am approaching Linux and Xoops resources.
