Welcome to Lambda Delta’s Chapter Website!! The year 1975 saw the birth of what started as a vision - an idea of an organization, a sisterhood that would cater to the needs of Latinas and the universal woman. Thanks to the tremendous strides made by our seventeen founding mothers, this dream was realized, and took form as the entity. Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated, the first Latina sorority in the nation. One of the goals of Lambda Theta Alpha is to continually increase the number of active Alumnae. There are many different avenues our Alumnae follow to stay active within the organization after graduation. The primary focus of alumnae chapters is to engage in political, social, and community service activities within our communities. Alumnae Chapters are also committed to ensure the success of our Undergraduate chapters. Not only do they advise local chapters, they also sponsor workshops and conferences such as the Annual Spring Leadership Conference for undergraduate sisters. Alumnae Chapters are structurally divided among the nation by states. Lambda Delta Alumnae Chapter is the Alumnae Chapter for Maryland. Since Maryland is geographically close to Washington D.C. and Virginia, Lambda Delta Alumnae Chapter serves all the Alumnae in the DMV area (D.C., MD and VA). Alumnae in this area are actively involved in the community, academically, professionally and with Graduate and Undergraduate sisters. We have tons of alumnae sisters living in our area and despite the fact that we are from different chapters, regions or semesters we as alumnae come together and UNITE to empower all the sisters in our area.
