2004 - Night Stand The nightstand below is a copy of the night stand that came with my wife's bedroom suit. We have been using a second table that did not match for her side of the bed for the past eleven years and she finally asked me to make one for her. She wantedme to use some of the pine from my in-laws barn, so I made the piece from the recycled yellow pine stall slats. The pine was spalted really bad and it was very wormy. I used transtint dye mixed with 2# orange shellac with two coats of deft lacquer as the top coat. Completed 2004.

Kitchen island made at the request of my Sister-in-Law. The top was colored brown to match the walnut knob on the drawer. The knob was turned from a piece of walnut from our Dad's farm. This was my first turning project. The finish is two coats of Minwax Classic Oak Polyshades stain then three coats of Porter varnish.Completed 2005.

Walnut Bow Front End Tables

I made this set of small bow front walnut end tables for my father patterned after the article in Woodsmith No, 121.     My dad was a gunsmith when I was a kid so I chose to make the tables out of walnut.  The drawer boxes are striped maple.  The original plan was altered to remove one of the drawers and add a shelf.  The finish is linseed oil, seal coat shellac then Lacquer.
