The Logo above on the left has been 'retired' from active use. It is thus appropriate for service with the association
and is representative of so many who served during its tenure, 1970-2000. The Logo on the right is a coin minted
for the 60th Anniversary of Long-Range Detection, 2007.09.16 (purchase information at 'Sage Shop' in 'Newsletters,' Page 01 here).
 
-ASSOCIATION HISTORY, 1985.03.12, A group of retired & active duty AFTACers, by invitation
from then CC, Col Clapper, meet at the Patrick AFB, FL, NCO Club and begin the process.
The association is chartered in 1986. Originally ‘AFTAC Alumni Association,’ a name change
was necessitated by Air Force requirements in mid-2001 to continue operating 'on base.’
--The assn provides a forum for those wishing to maintain a relationship with the center and its people,
active-duty and retired. Membership is open to past/present employees of all organizations associated with
Long Range Detection (LRD) (AFMSW-1, 1009th SWS, AFOAT-1, 1035th FAG, and AFTAC), and any
subordinate field detachment.
