Central Europe and the Balkans
Albania
The Republic of Albania is situated in the South East region of Europe, South-West of the Balkan Peninsula, along the Adriatic and the Ionian Seas.
The contents of this site are in Albanian & English languages.
There is “Albania in Figures” for 2005 available for download in PDF format. The site map is user friendly and aids locating needed information on this website.
The population and housing census was conducted on the territory of Albania in 2001.
This site does not offer searchable database, however the preliminary findings are clearly indicated on the website. Instead the results of the census are available for download in Excel format.
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina Statistical Information is available on the web from several sources.
According to the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement it was agreed to create within Bosnia and Herzegovina following two entities: Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska.
Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Federal Office of Statistics (FSO) of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina
The FSO site offers monthly and annual data from all the cantons of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Besides the major economic indicators for years 2003 through 2005 there is population census data is available on this site.
Also there is data from 1961 through 1991 about the population grouped by ethnicities.
It is must be noted that this data also contains Muslims as a separate ethnic group along with the Turks as another ethnic group.
This site is also in Bosnian and English languages.
There is a list of statistical publications for purchase on the site.
Republika Srpska Institute of Statistics
This website is available in Cyrillic, Latin scripts of Serbo-Croatian languages and in English.
This website does not have a separate search function; however it includes the agriculture statistics for year 2005.
This website does not have census information about the Republika Srpska.
Bulgaria
National Statistical Institute
This website is in Bulgarian and English. Also on this website there is a brief description of the agencies on the territory of Bulgaria that engage in Statistics gathering activities. There is a search feature available of this website.

One important feature of this site is the availability of comparative population census data tables from years 1887 to 2001.
Croatia
The Central Bureau of Statistics Website is a primary statistical information source for Croatia. Following sites are parts of the above website. This site is in Croatian and English.

Agricultural Census of Croatia (2003)
Agricultural Census page has interactive data feature that allows us to conduct search using PC-AXIS for windows software.
This software is available for download from the same site.
There is a choice of not using the interactive features of the site, and the data tables are readily available for the use.
Czech Republic
One important feature of this website is “most often visited” module.
This module allows us to directly see basic facts on Czech Republic and also latest economic data.
Also this site allows us to compare Czech Republic to other European nations through the Eurostat link.
